This treatment for leg veins involves the insertion of a tiny needle into the blood vessel where a small amount of sclerosing or scarring agent is gently injected. This causes the vessels to shrink and dissolve as the body naturally absorbs them. Patients will be fitted for compression stockings that must be worn for three days and two nights post-procedure, and then for two weeks during the day to help achieve optimal results and reduce the risk for complications. Multiple treatments may be needed and results are typically seen within 4-6 weeks.
